You won’t believe it but there are people researching pros and cons of sleeping without clothes. And there are multiple health benefits for the ones who prefer to dream without their PJ’s on, UK’s The Sun reported.
1. It improves fertility
Scientists found that men who slept in the nude had 25% less sperm damage than the ones who wore tight pants in bed. (Wearing boxers also helped to avoid such problems.)
2. It makes you happier
In a couple, the less clothes you wear to bed, the happier you are.
- 57% of the pairs who jumped in bed with no clothes on reported to be happy together.
- From the ones who wore PJs, 48% were happy.
- Ladies wearing night gowns: 43%.
- Onesie-wearers: 38%.
3. It makes you less stressed
According to sleep expert Neil Robinson, sleeping with no clothes on assists in getting down levels of cortisol in your blood, balance melatonin, and promotes production of the growth hormone. All these things lead to your feeling less stressed.
4. It’s good for your skin
Apparently, sleeping in the nude improves circulation of blood in the skin, which makes it healthier.
5. It helps to stay cool
The Los Angeles Sleep Study Institute insists that overheating is the reason for people waking up in the middle of the night. Without clothes, your body is likely to cool down, which allows you to sleep better.
6. Less chance of stroke or diabetes
A good sleep also assists in avoiding the condition that leads to type 2 diabetes, which is linked to an increased risk of stroke, University of Warwick researchers found.
