If you lived in China, divorce could become way simpler with a new function in WeChat app. Being the most popular messaging application for smart phones in the country, it is used to store copies of documents such as a driver’s license. Now WeChat also assists unhappy spouses in beginning the procedure of a marriage breakdown.
Chinese spouses can apply for a divorce over a chat app
The trial of the new function of the chatting messenger has been trailed in Guandong province and the government intends to make it available wider. About 1 billion users have the app installed in their mobile devices.
The app allows spouses to schedule an appointment with the office of marriage and divorce registrations. The trial began in mid-May 2018.
Matthew Brennan, a tech expert who resides in China, reported about the newly introduced function on Twitter.
So, you won’t complete the whole separation via the app, but you are able to start the procedure by scheduling an appointment.
The function is included in the same section that allows to attach your documentation within the application. You submit details of people wishing to file for a divorce and then make an appointment. Payment are also made via the same system.
The much loved mobile application also allows to apply for a marriage license.

I don’t know. All this new things with phone’s apps just separate people even more then they already are. That shouldn’t be at all. People have to discuss all these important decisions personally without computers. That’s why they divorce one day because computers became everywhere and there is no place for personal conversations anymore.
